95 GOLF TD

Just bought one, engine out of car so havn't had a drive yet. I have read a lot about how much torque the cars have and how different they are from gassers. I am wondering if this car is even quick(stock) or will it have trouble getting out of its own way? I am driving an in between right now, a 94 honda civic hatchback, 4 cyl, and its pretty quick for what it is. Is there any way my new diesel will keep up with anything out there? if so what am i looking at being able to run with? I dont condone racing and I dont do it, I just like knowing what I have and what it could do. I dont really care about how much horsepower I can get with new turbo, boost pin etc, just want to know how it will run as is.
cheers guys!

stock VWs are damn slow, compared to what they could be with a few simple mods.
if you are leaving your car completely stock, its not gonna be very fast at all..

Turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.

Top Gear, put nitrous alone on a stock 1.9 AAZ, turned up the fuel and whooped a NSX's donkey
Mind you its an expensive modification, as you will have to fill the bottle.
Search for the name Giles at Performance Diesel. He can hook you up!

If there is a food factory near you that makes real whipped cream cakes, go on the blag, nitrous oxide is the gas used to whip the cream. Was one of the perks when I was in catering, seemed to find it really funny at the time!
