Headlight switch wiring question
« on: October 20, 2010, 11:56:15 am »
1981 diesel pickup

The left side of the illumination lights for my speedo cluster is dark.  The right side, where I removed the clock to install the tachometer, is lit up OK.  Fuse (#5) checks out OK.

Next culprit is the H/L switch.  So in getting oriented with the wiring by tracing down via Bentley and online long-wired schematic, see the terminals on switch numbered: 2,4,7,31,1,3,5 & 6=total of 8 terminals

Had a fellow give me one a few months ago that supposedly came off of a 1982 pickup; also diesel.  It looks to be darn near brand new.

But in looking at it's terminals, the designations are totally different: 1 ... D ... H ... R ... B2 ... 15 ... B1 ... one unmarked that seems to join 2 internal points ... and what appears to be the ground on the end, out of the group of the others.

Any ideas of what the cross references are to the original numbers?
TIA
