• I installed mine on a fresh Mtdi install so I can't really say how it would be without it. The inlet elbow & flange openign on the stock is pretty tiny. I'd say this is 2x the area at least & not starving # 1 & 4 for air.

  when my car smoked a lot I notice a decrease in smoke but no power increase. You wont gain much  power if any with an intake. If power is your goal spend money on other things.

• im happy with my power  i just wanted alittle more refinement and i thought inlet and exhaust manifolds would be the place to find that refinement. its alittle smokey at the moment so ill make a manifold and see what happens

  The intake and exhuast will not bolt on and give more power. The power comes from the extra fuel you are able to burn since you have more even boost and better/cooler air. Your smoke went down, but that just meant the air was enough to burn the diesel. So now you could turn the fuel up and have more power before at a similar smoke level as before.

• I used a volvo d24 intake which i cut down the outer two ports and had a buddy tig up the ends and another port match/port/polish things.
