WTB: MK1 heated seat switch
« on: October 09, 2010, 09:55:34 am »
Kinda hard to find down here in the US. I thought maybe one of our friends up in the Great North might be able to help out. I'm looking for a MK1 heated seat switch. Yes, they do exist! Here's a PN:

161 963 563

Most likely place to find one would probably be in a late Cabriolet or S2 Scirocco. If you have a plug/pigtail to go with it, even better.

I need one, but two would be twice as nice.

PM me if you can help out. Stolen Pic of what they look like

I use a cheap inverter and AC powered heating pad I bought at the discount store. Geto but effective.
Look, if corn and kudzu fall in love and have a baby in a lab under the supervision of scientists working in my employ, WHO AM I TO STOP THAT other than the CEO responsible for stopping it???

Daayyyyyyuummmmmmmmmmmm Man

That is a sweet item.
Never would have guessed an mk1 had that option.

Hope you had it strait wired to switch power and used it all the time. lol
It was cold enough this winter.

He's back!

Yeah, I've got one coming this week. It's a bit worn, but supposedly works fine. I'm putting this into my Quantum Wagon, and may install some heated seats into my Rabbit GTI. The holes in the dash are the same.

So, I'm still looking for as many as I can find.

wheres it go in a rabbit?

the center of the dash, above the ash tray, by the e-flashers and window de-fogger?
92 Jetta GLI - Black, 1.6D w/ GT2056V turbo..
86 GTI - 4 Door, Med Twilight Gray, Tow Machine..
86 Audi Coupe GT - Tornado Red, All Stock.. WRECKED.
89 Toyota 4Runner - Dark Grey Metallic, LIFTED!

Turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.

If you have a Jetta, Scirocco or Cabriolet, there are plenty of holes. But on a Rabbit, if you pull off your dash bezel, you will see a third hole in the dash frame between the defrost and hazard switches. You can cut out a corresponding hole on the dash bezel to mount it. If you have a Caddy, you can just use the hole where the blank for the defrost switch is. That's how I mounted OEM fog light switches back when I had fogs.
