Hey. So ive pulled my old engine that was a 1.6TD and swapped it with a 1.6Na and bolted the turbos on and what have you. my new dilema is this motor sat for over 10 years. i pulled the injector lines and they were full of old diesel that smelt like varsol or varnish either way some nasty ***. so i tried starting it. it ran for a few seconds and slowly died out craked all the injector lines but was still getting nasty fuel. so i pulled the injector lines out all together and the fuel is yellowish and how can i drain the old fuel from the injector pump or is short cranks the easiest way to get the old out and replaced with the new. if any of this makes sense not sure lol ill check back in the morning and see what you have to say.
I would take the return line off the out bolt and use air pressure or vacuum to pull fuel through. Hook a container with new diesel to the inlet and do it until you get good diesel.
if you cant do that, just cranking the car will work the lift pump and pump fuel thru the inj pump..
So i did both these got frsh fuel into it. It would idle andd rev some so i ran straight injector cleaner that helped more but not enough so i happen to have a good set of injectors an turbo injector pump im going to be installing soo got the old junk out already.
