A chip will give you the most bang for your buck if you are looking for a simple way to get more power. I have an Upsolute chip that I paid over $500 bucks for a number of years ago. Now that my TDI has a mechanical pump on it ,I have no use for it. If you are interested I will sell it for $175.00 CAN.

did AAZs come with 90 hp?

did TDIs come in 94?
92 Jetta GLI - Black, 1.6D w/ GT2056V turbo..
86 GTI - 4 Door, Med Twilight Gray, Tow Machine..
86 Audi Coupe GT - Tornado Red, All Stock.. WRECKED.
89 Toyota 4Runner - Dark Grey Metallic, LIFTED!

Turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.

OP, please put your location in your profile so that we can be sure... but I'm guessing you're from Canada... which means you probably have a Passat with an AAZ engine,  which is an IDI design as opposed to a TDI... important distinction as you're wanting to learn about tuning.  For example... TDIs respond well to bigger injectors... where bigger injectors are probably not worth the time or money on an IDI.

The FAQ's got lots of good reading... differences between IDI and TDI engines, turning suggestions for the AAZ engine if that's what you've got etc.

In fact... perhaps you even have a sample of a 1994 TDI MJF ??!!!   ;)

Different configurations came out at different times across the world... which is why we suggest folks put their location in their profiles.

It also helps when the inevitable "where can I get an XXXX for my YYYY" questions come up.   ;)

Quick little scan shows he lives in the Mulhurst, AB area. ;)

Could have had one imported. Could be a swapped motor. Could just be an AAZ.

Chris I believe it is? Can we have a picture of your engine bay please. :P
