I have a mk1 Rabbit and want to replace the suspension on it. My problem is, the PO put some cheap coil overs on it and they just bounce me all over.
So I am asking what factory wheel gap was OR if you are running factory suspension and have different wheels/tires than factory let me know them as well.
This will help me get an accurate idea of what 1.25" drop means for the rabbit.
Thanks

1.25 drop and your stuck with tire sizes close to that of stock.. i had some 205/40/17s on mine for a minute. they rub way bad. and my car was stock height..
different sized tires give a different fender well gap..
what are you trying to accomplish here?

What are you looking for lowered or stock
You can go weitec coilovers front and gabreil airshocks rear
axlflip with airshocks & coilovers
weitec spring's ( rabbitparts.com ) shock's and lowering plates from blackforestindustries
stay away from the rear coilovers, junk
oPP'S SORRY THOUGHT IT WAS A CADDY....

That is how the tires fit under the car right now.
I had to roll the front fenders to get the tires under there.
They are 205/45/16 ET +38 (I think)
Anyhow they are "universal fit" honda wheels came off my friends 97 civic.
I want suspension that will ive me the same or similar result. To reiterate, this is as low as I want the car to be.

any good bumps are gonna make those tires rub like a MOFO.. too much offset. thats the same offset my 17s had. same width, and about the same height tires.. they are gonna RUB BAD!! they rub real bad on my car and its stock height..

Then I must have the offset incorrect, it could be 32
They don't rub and the car bounces enough to test all that out.

Then you better get those fenders rolled.

SO I was thinking, H&R sport cup or Touring Cup
Difference is
Sport Cup is 1.25" F & R
Touring Cup is 0.25" F & R
ideas?

i cant bring myself to mess up this car, even rolling the arches, i just cant. this car is the nicest original rabbit ive ever owned. i ended up takin the big wheels off anyway because i lost so much power from them..

Wheel weight ?
I have forged 15 x 6 Le Caslett's and there lighter than 13 steelie's stock caddy stuff...
195-45-15, rolled and no rubbing
I also have 19 x 12 Dymag's that are 13 lbs ( Porsche 997TT )
If you want a pic ?
Let me know
