GM Injectors?
« on: August 21, 2010, 08:24:07 am »
I have a 1.6TD motor, but I need more fuel!  I have been looking around for some better injectors.  I have found a few different options, but I am wondering which is the best.  Merc, GTD, AAZ, which injectors work the best?  Has anyone ever tried GM Injectors?  THe old Bosch pumps were almost the same and the injectors look almost the same, but would they work?

VW nozzles flow more fuel than you could EVER BURN..

ask one of the senior members, like Burn_your_money, he will tell you whats up with injectors.. everyone just runs GTD nozzles it seems..

just because parts look the *same* does not mean they function the same. GM injectors are set up to spray into GM pre-cups.. not VW cups. could melt the VW head even..

Just take one injector apart and look for SNo... If the 0 is there then it will give similar spray pattern. My Quantum runs on genuine Bosch pinched out of a Ford

I ran GM nozzles(because they were cheaper) and noticed no change in performance or fuel economy.

I think the GM prechamber is almost the same shape as the VW ones... Mercedes though is VERY different, and you will have issues 9from what I've seen on here)

In the end though the injectors are not a limitation on the 1.6 IDI (unlike the TDI's which actually do benefit from bigger injectors).  The IDI engines need pump work rather than injector work.
