Was just wondering if this would work at all and if I would need any special parts to complete the swap. FYI this would be going into a rust free 1992 vw cabriolet.

need one key piece.. an ever so illusive auto diesel starter.. made from unobtanium..
and all the mounts/brackets/cables/shifters that pertain to the installation. ive thought about this swap before, it would be fun in a car with a turbo, and some power, because you could spool the turbo against the transmission.

VW it aint just a car, its a way of life..... Boost, Soot, Repeat

a 3spd auto trans is spinning 3100 at 65mph.. Bad Bad diesel ratios.

"096" 4 Speed Automatic code CFF from a VR6 Corrado, Golf/Jetta III, Passat. It will spin 2400 at 65mph, dunno if it would ever work.. but a 4spd auto would be way better Idea..

The 4 speed is electronic but uses a stand alone controler IIRC..  Not sure what inputs it would need..  TIme to have a look at alldata......
