Hi guys,
I've got an AHU built up with .216 nozzles, a GT2052V turbo (from a 2.5v6), large FMIC and an AFN ecu. I get the impression from reading about other people's builds that the pump is likely to be the limiting factor in this setup. Would anyone care to suggest at what power / tq level this pump will top out at please? I'm hoping for 180hp/250tq to match the 2.5V6 - is that realistic?
Thanks
I had a 98 AHU which produced 238 ft'lbs / 139 hp at the wheels and all it had was a chipped ecu and 205 nozzles, so i think what you want is easily available. Fuel delivery needs are needed as rpms go up, and since TDI's don't like tons of rpms, see how far you get before you know there is a fuel delivery issue. Otherwise call Giles at Performance Diesel for his advice and what can be done.
with that turbo I would put an 11mm from an alh on it. Not sure the details on changing the wiring but it has been done. You have to modify your pump bracket.
Did the 1Z/AHU's have 10 & 11mm pump heads depending on the tranny (auto/manu) or was that just a ALH thing? There the auto's got 11mm heads & manual's got 10mm but larger nozzles... or do I have that backwards?
i would fit a 11mm head to your pump , i put one on to my golf tdi 1z pump just bolted it back on and ran spot on this was a etdi
Back again
I've found an engine in the scrap yard with no identification visible. It looks like this:
Is this guaranteed to be an ALH or are there other engines that look the same as this that aren't as good?
It has a manual trans, so are the pump and nozzles worth getting or are they the same as the AHU?
Thanks
Ok I have determined that it is an AHF - 110hp - which I think means .205 nozzles so I grabbed the injectors already.
Since its manual I assume that means a 10mm head? Is there any advantage in swapping to that instead of my AHU pump or is it going to be pretty much the same?
Thanks

MK3 diesels never came with autos so there are only 10mm heads. Based on North American markets anyways...
Yes autos were 11mm heads with smaller nozzles
