My aaz ticks pretty darn loud and im not surprised. The lifters are from its father before it the 1.6td. I have no idea how old they are - probably anchient.
I saw a price for lifters in a catalogue for almost $40 each!!!
I'm sure there is something better out there - anyone know of any?
i found some at
www.germanautoparts.com
$8.50 each. Anyone know of somewhere closer to the west coast? Possibly in canada?
bah i got lazy and bought them anyways. I'd delete this post if i could ...

Yup, that's exactly what that means... Worldpac in Canada is down to three... so you can't run next door to AutoPartsFirst or whatever other Canadian Worldpac guys you can find... you'll get the same answer. ;-)
It's a pretty common item so I'd expect it to replenish fast... although I once waited almost 2 weeks for a second control arm bushing...they are generally the cheapest source of OEM parts in Canada for our beasts.
You could also try Napa, since they carry most of Altrom's lineup. I also buy a lot of my TDI stuff from Brian at Roseland Technical Services in NS... great service and prices.

Depending on what year your engine is the Napa/Altrom PN is 034 109 309 for 1993-05/96 and 050 109 309 H for 5/96-1998. I think the VW PN are 034109309AD and 050109309J. Here in ON there is 10 or more in stock depending on PN required

I can source almost any VW engine part. But I can only see stock in ON when I log on to the various catalogs. Post a new thread and I will get PN or whatever you need specs. etc.

Do you mean a comprehensive list of all part numbers in text form that can be searched?

What I mean is I will source what ever part you require and try to give you a possible point of purchase in your area. I do not deal in the USA to much but I have a good handle on Canada. If specs are required we can do that to. Wiring diagrams VW or otherwise. I do not want to step any vendors on toes here so I will not sell any parts unless you show up at my shop.
