Turbo return line
« on: August 03, 2010, 03:44:54 pm »
I replaced my abused K14 with a good garret T3,i pulled it off a mk2 engine in my garage so i had the correct return line and all.
After the turbo was installed i just had to hook up the return line to the oil pan when i saw it was 2 inches to schort, seems the hole sits lower in a audi 80 and it bolts directly on the pan (unlike the golf wich has a 90 degree angle on the pan).

I then cut the t3 line and the k14 line and used a silicone hose to connect the two,the end of the lines have a 1mm ridge so i think the hose will not slide off.
Now afterwards i reallly don't have trust in what i'v done,i think heat or oil will blow the hose and i'll ruin my good engine.

Best solution would pull the turbo AGAIN and weld the two together using the flexible part off the k14 but this is A LOT off work again...

Anyone with a good idea ?

so i'm imagining that you have the two fittings at either end with a fuel type hose straight between them
the oil in the drain hose isn't pressurized, It won't blow your hose apart
just use some hose clamps, that should be more than adequate
