I have some parts for sale, from a 1980 VW caddy 1.5 diesel. Motor was locked up when I bought the truck, and I tore the motor down and the head was fried so i guess thats what killed it. It had been sitting for several years. I thought i would offer the parts on here before i listed them on ebay.
4 speed transmission $ 100 + Shipping
injection pump, injectors, and lines $150 + Shipping
Intake and Exhaust Manifolds $40 each + Shipping
Alternator $30 + Shipping
Air conditioner compressor $ 40 +Shipping
Starter (needs solenoid Damaged during removal) $25+ shipping

350 bucks for a used 4 speed? good luck..
most people cant give 4 speeds away, let alone command top dollar for them.
you might get 100-150 bucks or so for it if it were a GP, GY, or 4A, but being out of a 80 caddy, its most likely a GC, and those trannies are the least desirable ones out there.. unless it was rebuilt like 400 miles ago.
sorry to rain on your parade, but i figured you might want to put a reasonable price on it, to get rid of it faster.
