Question regarding new intermediate shaft bearings

When you pressed in your new intermediate shaft bearings, did the shaft want to bind in the bearing? did it take some encouragement to spin freely?
how freely did it spin with new bearings?

IIRC it was a little stiff but I could still turn the naked shaft by hand.  I only did the outer one, though.  With the pulley on I could not tell the difference.

I can't turn mine without the pulley on. I maybe could spin it a little in each direction. Put the pulley on and I can spin it. It is still stiff, but I can spin it no problem. I was worried too and asked the same question. You will be fine, that tight tolerance will keep your oil pressure up...unlike last time

What type of bearings did you get?  Are they the pre-fit ones?  Or the ones that need to be reamed for proper fit?  Did you install them yourself?

Cyrus, they are the ones from mopac that come in the blue box. they are already machined i believe and i pressed them in with a homemade tool. the all thread with a 1 inch black pipe cap ground down to fit.

the issue is the the back race is badly damaged which i think is causing some slight issues.

with the pulley on the shaft i can only just turn it with one hand.

You might want to take a good look at the edge that contacted the tool and see if it's buggered.  If so, take a small file and chamfer it lightly

I did so with 600 grit wet dry.
My drill spins it effortlessly so once it's got oil to suck up i'll prime it with the drill.

Just an update. After about 600km the shaft spins freely by hand and there is lots of pressure.
