So what do you folks do on Canada Day? Is it like our (US) 4th of July? Fireworks, picnics, parades?
I happened to be in Banff a few years ago on 1 July, but I don't recall any festivities (perhaps due to the remoteness?)

Parades, picnics, parties, fireworks, etc. One of the bands I play in is playing the Freedom Festival parade in Windsor ont (right across the river from Detroit, kind of a joint canada day/july 4th festival). Another one I play in is playing in one of the bars downtown Chatham tonight and tomorrow night. Fireworks on the river etc. There's an all day party in ottawa with lots of great stuff, should be able to find it on TV if you're near the border.......

I can't help myself-here we go-from the National Lampoon July 1971:
Why is the Canadian national holiday 3 days earlier than the American one?
-To get ready for the American tourists
How do you take the Canadian census ?
-Divide the American one by 10
Who was that Canadian I saw you with last night?
-That was no Canadian, it was my cousin from upstate New York !

Forgive me for not being too familiar with Canadian Holidays, but if this is a very big day up North, then I will wish all the Canadian VW Diesel members a Happy, safe, and healthy Canada Day.
Stay safe, stay well. Jimmy.

Well thank you for the info. But at 143, Canada is still a kid to the U.S being 234 in 3 days..

But also be aware our 'Fourth of July' is also known as 'Independence Day'. "Canada Day" gave me no indication it was your independence day from the British Crown. Of this I am now aware.

Enjoy your holiday, my friends to the North.
P.S. Cheryl Bernard is still a hottie, IMO. Though she lives in San Diego...

Stay safe, stay well. Jimmy.
