Got m-TDI dyno #'s?
« on: June 27, 2010, 11:48:09 am »
Has anyone out there got dyno numbers on an m TDI setup? Or on a nicely modded (giles pump, IC, larger exhaust, pp intake) 1.6 td? I am about to build the latter and was wondering if I could make a _lot_ more power with an m TDI and if I should go that way...

Well when i had my 98 AHU chipped and with big nozzles would have had 245 ft'lbs of torque, 142 hp at the wheels. So a mTDI without the EGR and big nozzles and no other mods should be close to that? Then more boost and away you go....

TDI engines are capable of more power just because of the way they burn their fuel, and they run quite a bit lower compression than an IDI engine.

or throw a big turbo and loads of fuel at a TDI and have over 300 whp. lol..
if you have a TDI at your disposal, just use it, otherwise use the 1.6
