91 golf 1.6NA, 90mm or 100mm driveshafts?

As stated in the title, is there any way to know which diameter driveshafts I've got on my car?? I'd say 100mm since it's a late mk2 but I don't want to order two driveshafts that may be of the wrong size for my car.

Does anyone know?

Only Mk2 16vs (and some GTI 8vs) have 100mm driveshafts.

Your 1.6D has 90mm for sure

Actually most of the gas mk2's in north America had 100mm axles, but I don't think any of the diesels did.

Yeah. My Mk2 diesel rabbit has 100mms, because it was born as a gas GTI.  From what I understand the OEM diesel's were 90mm.

90mm for ME and MF engines (aka NA/TD diesels).

Assuming you still have the stock tranny.

Thanks a lot for the info guys. Is there any way to measure this without taking off the axles? I wanna be 100% sure.

Well, you could do the old school way. Grab a tape measure (for your waist), wrap it around the flange (the CV itself is slightly smaller). Then look at how large it is.

The circumference of the 100 mm axle should be 314+mm. The 90 mm axle should be ~282/283mm.

Infcat, the 90mm axles are about 92mm.. the 100mms 98, so measure very precise

I've got one that can span over the sides, so I can measure the axles without taking them off.

Maarten: those are called digital calipers.  It's amazing how widely available and inexpensive they are nowadays.
