Land Rover 300tdi pump
« on: June 09, 2010, 12:14:52 pm »
Hi,

So I just bought myself a AHU for my 1983 toyota hilux. My plans are a mTdi build, but I just can't justify the cost of a super pump from Giles at this point in time. I know it sounds stupid but because I have to source a AAZ pump and a AHU pump then send them to him the cost of the pump alone is well over $2000.

I have found a brand new 300tdi pump, but am concerned about it not having the true LDA. From what I have read some pumps came with a "fake" LDA, the same as the some of the later AAZ pumps.

I don't know if there is any way to tell from the numbers on the pump but here they are;

0 460 414 098
R 509
ERR 4419
586 701767
1027109

All I need to know is if this pump has the correct LDA. I notice that the pump has a boost input port at the top, which to be says that it is a true LDA, but I don't know for sure.

Anything helps

Thanks

You could check my pictures, seems the serial number is pretty close to mine.

I think you should go for it, if something needs to be changed parts are interchangable.

Having bought a few LR 300 mech pumps, i've yet to see one without a full & proper LDA. These are the pumps that have the rover boost pin many vendors sell for aaz upgrades. Don't worry about the elect bit on the throttle shaft, its just a throttle position sensor you can pitch.
