I noticed my radiator fan wasn't kicking in recently. When I shorted the plug on the switch the fan started up no problem. So, I replaced the auxiliary fan switch in the radiator...but it still doesn't kick in at high temperatures. Any ideas?
Could a relay or fuse cause this? Wouldn't that cause it to have no power at all (even when shorting the switch)

If you can short it at the switch and it works the rest of the rad fan circuit is in proper order.
How are you determining that the rad fan should be on when it's not?
Did you test the new thermo switch?
I've been using a fairly sophisticated test
After 30 minutes on the the highway home, I let my car idle in the yard. As the temperature gauge passes 100 and the fan still hasn't kicked in, I start to worry.
You're right. I should just test the thermo switch.
Tested the switch. Right at 85 degrees. Put it back in and when I got home this afternoon it worked fine.
I'll keep an eye on it.
