swapping LDA of a vanagon pump
« on: June 08, 2010, 10:07:22 am »
Hello

I have a NEVER used vw t3/vanagon td pump sitting in front of me,it even came out a sealed bosch box !
My brother found it at school and they let him have it,yes i am very happy now cuz my pump needed a rebuild...

Now this pump has the weird LDA with the lever ans boost can system,i took it of and looked inside the pump, all nice and shiny.

pump nr is VE4/9F2250R170

Can i just swap the LDA with the one of a regular td pump, mount and run it ?anyone ever done this   ?

cheers

The vanagon's governor spring assembly and dynamic advance curve will be different, but I believe either LDA version will bolt right on without issue.

You are right,it just bolted on !!!

I had to swap the governor assembly because the vanagon's shaft is longer,so i need to swap the spring and washers of the dynamic advance piston also, ?
The golf pump has 3 washers and the vanagon's only 2,i haven't compared the spring yet

the governor : you cant really see the lenght of the shaft,i had to swap it anyway since mine is a bit better  :)

The new monster  ;D
