On Friday I was driving my 1.9TD at around 140 km/h down the highway when all of a sudden I felt a loss of power. I have a boost gauge hooked up and and showed that turbo wasn't boosting at all. A minute or two later the engine started squealing loudly and I lost more power. I pulled over to the side of the road to tell my friends to stop. I tried driving to catch up to them but it just didn't feel like it would drive fast at all. To me it sounds like a bearing making the noise and it seems to come from the back of the engine, so I think it is the turbo bearing that has gone. But before I get a new turbo I want to make sure I am replacing the right part.
