Sure you can. That figure above shows only that 2,5 cam has a little more duration than 2,4 cam. Might want to check piston-valve clearance too.

the cam says it lowers the compression? how is this achieved? holding the valves open too long and letting some air get out?

A slight valve overlap would be my guess.

Why would that be an issue for boost??  It can only be a small amount of overlap anyway since the overlap happens when the piston is at tdc so very little room is available.  Do you think that you would actually lose enough boost out the exhaust to notice it?

I do think that this would be a good cam for the idi's imo.  The aaz cam I believe has a little more lift than the 1.6 cam which would be a cheaper upgrade.  I don't know if there would be a noticeable difference.

that would be no good for boost..

TDI's have turbos and people running this cam most likely run higher than stock boost.
'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.

At the bottom of the picture there is a scroll bar. It kind of blends in with the taskbar in the picture though.

I'd personally go with Docs cam, as it is purpose designed, but whichever you want to go with is ultimately your decision.
