Hi,
Can someone tell me how to get the Vanagon diesel tach to show correct values when running on AAZ alternator??
Either it's correct in idle and wrong in the rest or it's correct in the middle area and worng in the rest...
Can't adjust it to show correct values in high area...
Are there a resistor or something like that I can change in the tach to make it show the correct RPM??
I believe i found my solution in The Samba vanagon forums. I ended up getting a variable resistor at an electronics shop, and using to replace one of the resistors on the little pc board behind the cluster. Had to go to where i used to work to use their diesel tach to get it right ,but it was pretty close already.
Do you know what value the resistor has and what resistor to replace??
Maybe even the link to the thread on The Samba??
I already have a laser tach. in my toolbox.
Can't find the link, but it is out there. My brain isn't working too well, on painkillers for a pulled back muscle. Stupid thing is that i had to buy 2 of those resistors ,so if i can find the second one, i'll send it to you.
Did you try a search on here ?
I've tried searching both this site and The Samba, but haven't found anything on vanagon tach. and AAZ alternator...
Okay maybe i lied,it's here :http://www.vwdiesel.net/forum/index.php?topic=12589.msg88803#msg88803.
