Hi Folks.
I've an 81 Caddy with a NA 1.6. It's fairly hilly where I am & I find the wee truck a bit sluggish. I would like to upgrade the power train to a 1.9 IDI Turbo. I would like a simple switch as I don't have much time to spend on this project I just read the piece on the AAZ crank problems and so my question is, what engine should I be looking for. Also I had a number of Rabbits & Golfs, All NA, in the 80's & could never get more than around 350,000 KM on them before they started to get tired. Is this still true with the later 1.9 TD's.
Any comments?
