bosch injector
« on: December 04, 2005, 08:49:33 am »
Hi, my 1981 vw rabbit diesel, with a bosch fuel system on it, leaks diesel out of the injectors (where you screw the two halfs of the injector together) so i took the injectors out and had them rebuilt, put them back in and it is still leaking diesel.  I at first thought it was the run off lines (3.2 mm lines that run from injector to injector) I replaced those, and it wasnt them.  Is this the place where i got them rebuilts fault?  or should i buy bran new injectors (all four are leaking)?

thanks for any help

If your injectors are leaking from between the halves, it is due to a sloppy injector rebuild.  Good injector rebuilders will hone the sealing end of the injector holder on a surace plate to make it totally smooth and flat.  The injector halves should also be torqued together to proper specs with a torque wrench.  Hope this helps
