hello my name is daniel im from the santa cruz mts in cali, i love diesel with a passion i grew up with diesels and own a diesel. i wish i knew the value of the caddies and jettas back then since we had 5 caddys and 4 jettas all that we chopped up for scrap metal. i also have a 1997 ford f250 powerstroke with pretty much everything done to it, and since that is done me and my buddy stumbled apon a 1979 vw golf diesel. its a project we have been looking for. the original plan was to get a mk1 gti and put a tdi in it but for now this will work. we were gunna put a tdi in it but we decited to just put a 1.6 turbo in it till we can get all the wires and tranny and engine for it so it can go in easy. we r also gunna run it off veggie oil like my truck. it will have a full roll cage with all aluminum interior. its a 4 door but the back doors will be welded closed and door handels shaved. the car has been sitting for about 7 years and the guy just let it sit and took parts off it for electric motor swapps. so we r pretty much starting with just a motor thats it no brake booster, pedels nothing but a motor really.

vegi oil is BAD unless you run it right. do not ever run a cold diesel on vegi, but im sure you already know this ;)

veg is not bad at all. i know the ins and out of runnin veg been doing it on my truckfor 2 years and my dads since before i can remember. if its cold it will run like crap but when its heated it will run smoother and quieter than diesel. and since its idi its much easier than my $5000 automatic system on my truck.  trust me i know veg
