Go to a mattress store and ask them if they have a used mattress bag you can have. They are made of a nice thick plastic that should hold up.

Or a small roll of vapor barrier from your local Home Depot will work as well...you can get it in various thicknesses.

I used a garbage bag and that annoying clear tape to hold it to the door, it's actually pretty good.
'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.

Use bubblewrap.
 It's thick but fits,
keeps the door more quiet, when driving and sounds more solid when you shut it,..
and warmer on your left leg in the winter.

This.  It's almost exactly the same material, you can get really cheap ones if you look, like 99 cents at dollar stores.  And one curtain is usually enough for two doors.  :)  You can also use the butyl stuff at lowes/home depot to seal the edges, it's basically the same stuff the factory used and it's also cheap.

Where in HD would I find a roll of the butyl rope?  I've bought it at auto stores, but it's usually a pretty thick rope.

I used double-stick tape,
stuff for putting that clear plastic on your windows,... that gets heat-shrinked with a hairdrier.

Old thread I know.
I am getting ready for this. Wish me luck. I like the idea of bubble wrap. But shower curtains at the thrift store are cheap:D

I use "DUCK" brand carpet tape (goes on thin and the sheeting holds well, but can safely be pulled). Then I get some heavy MIL sheet plastic from the hardware store.

Is this the "big bubble" bubble wrap, or the "little bubble" bubble wrap?
