maybe there's an airlock impeding coolant flow??? try to bleed that out asap!
coolant temps are good though, wouldn't that cause some high temps?
mechanic looked at her today. a piece of metal got into the timing belt, my lifter closest to the belt is in multiple pieces, camshaft is chipped on the edges for that lifter, new lifters going in, new cam too. he'll see how it sounds after that, not sure if i bent any valves yet.
doh, any idea on cost to replace the valves?
My 14 month old waterpump went today. I am interested in finding the cast one mentioned by Andrew. I searched but didn't find much. Anyone know where to find these?
If you heat up very hot the housing and small bolts a few times and douse them with penetrent they usually come free. Many of the stock pump/housing combo units are assembled using loctite. Add a little rust to the scene and you can very easily snap every bolt. Whenever I get a new housing I remove each of the bolts and reinstall with anti-sieze rather than loctite. Get the cast impeller variety rather than the plastic or stamped steel ones. Any know where to get cast ones?
Andrew
I got a Febi-Bilstein (sp) that had cast aluminum impellers. Ordered through Worldpac... I assume it's the same from them for Canada and US
Yep all my bolts broke off on my pulley and the water pump it self.
Does anyone know of the parts # of the pulley or the water pump body?
