ARP just came out with head studs specifically designed for our high compression diesels. No longer do we have to use the gasser Ford Cosworth studs.
The new studs torque to 125 lbfts and are made of different material. Good for all vw idi/tdi's except for the pd's. Price is in the $180 range.
Part # is 204-4706.
mjmautohaus and kerma have them and eventually most of your favourite performance parts places should too.

where did you get the part number?
I had tried to get it from Kerma and ARP directly with no result recently.
good to know, I will be grabbing a set for my new motor most likely...

Personally if I need a set again for a 1.6 I'll be using the Cosworth studs.. Less money and they work fine.
For my TDI I would probably rather have the studs designed for it, maybe......

We're still using the VW gasser headstuds. They work quite well.

Hi guys!
I'm new to this forum, but I wanted to let you know we do have these new ARP studs at kermatdi. Lots of of them, since we had a role in developing these studs!
I hope this post is OK ... I just wanted to let people know that we have them, since a post above was unclear.
Cheers!

The Cosworth studs only torque to 80 and these can be torqued to 125. Apparently the material is different.
