WTB: Garrett T2 Turbo

Wanted to buy:

The Garrett T2 turbo (VW Turbo for the 1.9 AAZ Turbo Diesel engines 93-98 yr.  Garrett  T-2  VW # 028 145 703 B and VD2431F ). This uses a 4-bolt turbo flange.  Please email me at [email protected] or call (303)775-5524.  I am located in Colorado.

You chould ping fairweather & see if he ever sold his GT15, would be pretty similar & he had a nice little kit put together.

You chould ping fairweather & see if he ever sold his GT15, would be pretty similar & he had a nice little kit put together.



I have been talking to him.  He has both a 1544 complete with manifold and hoses as well as a 1548 (turbo only).  I really would prefer to find another T2 since it would be a bolt in turbo with no re-plumbing but if they are becoming scarce, it may be time to upgrade.

How is your current T2 setup boostwise?

I was boosting to 19psi.  Unfortunately, this past Saturday, going uphill at altitude with 6 people in my van into a head wind, I definitely blew the turbo seal.  I had been at max boost for a few minutes at that point.  The particular T2 turbo I have on my van is of unknown age and mileage.  It is one of the last components to go from Quality German Auto who I bought all my original conversion parts from.
