WTB instrument cluster 92 td (need asap)
« on: April 04, 2010, 02:30:20 pm »
Looking for a CE2 instrument cluster for my 92 Jetta td ( Canadian). With or without tach, as long as gauges and lights all work.

Need this for my daily driver so let me know what you have asap!

Reason is I had a short (now fixed) that melted a small portion of the plastic circuit board on the rear. I'm not sure if this can be fixed so I'm guessing a complete cluster will be needed.

Thanks!

clock and tach clusters are interchangeable as long as they are both CE2 or CE1

I think I have a CE2 one for sale.. I bought it with tach for a 100USD plus shiping a while back and never used it or verified that it worked. Seller said it worked. Let me know if you need me to have my roommate find it since I am not at the shop.

As long as 92 is mk2, I've got one is Squish, if you need.  It's a clock, and shows ~400k, iirc, but it's there, and worked good, 'till some dumb &^%$# clipped te r.f. wheel and ICBC wrote the car off.  I could possibly just help you patch yours up as well, I've repaired a few flex circuits.
The one I have is from a 90-91 (German made, reg'd 91, but small bumpers??)  I'd let it go at a reasonable price, I'd just have to go pull it.
BTW I've got the whole thing as a parts car, so if you need anything else, talk to me at the same time.
One DD 92 Jetta, One 91 Collision write-off, and One 92 rust free shell, beautiful, stripped, waiting for diesel-ization.

Thanks for the offer but I actually drove down to the city on Saturday to pick one up! I'll keep you in mind for when the next thing goes wrong though!

By the way, who would you recommend in the area to get my head gasket done? It's just on it's way out I think and I've had a couple of ridiculous quotes up here in Pemby and Whistler
