what would you guys feel safe turning your 1.8 with a hydro head? its completely stock on the bottom end, but has a couple small mods. i need the rev limiter to be higher, i just dont want to sacrifice an engine figuring out how many RPMs are too many. i know if i wanna spin the guts out of the engine i should probably get some ARP rod bolts and do a quick balance on the bottom end.
usually for gasser questions, i would ask over at the vortex, but they are just a bunch of idiots for the most part. im not going to trust the bottom end of my engine to the advise of a retard. i really want one of your guys's opinions, as they are much more valuable to me. i know most of you guys have built and ran gassers before too, so what did you run yours at? how many rpms does it take to make parts exit the block?
