I bet that that was fun to take apart
Yeah, I have one where the PO tried to reseal the o-ring on the high-pressure end with orange silicone... then snapped the piston in half on reassembly.
Silicone makes such a mess when bits of it get into everything.
THey ought to require an instruction course to purchase that stuff.. Brainwash people that more is not better, never use it on a fuel system or anything else intricate like an auto trans..
I wish I woulda snapped pics of the trans I just took apart.. Looked much like that pump.. I think I fished a whole tube of orange goo outta the valve body..
Maybe they just shouldnt sell it. I hate it.
Ive been thinking of making gaskets for the Case halfs for my aircooled motors..just because I hate the stuff so much.
Either that or they need to require a 8hr course on how to do it..then get a card like they require people to do when buying a handgun in California.
Since misused sillly-cone has probably killed more things then legally purchased firearms in that state.
Wow.....whoever did that sure knew how to smear it on there

did it fix the leak?
Either that or they need to require a 8hr course on how to do it..then get a card like they require people to do when buying a handgun in California.
Bingo!!! The stuff does have it's place.. THose pesky corners of the intake on a V engine, old tractor drive lines that are impossible to find gaskets for and to make one would take 6 rolls of gasket material, that pesky exhaust manifold that was beyond repair 30 years ago and just won't seal.. Heck there are quite a few engines out there that never had anything else but the stuff, and a gasket will be too think and throw things off.. The whole key is to use it in the right place, and a little goes a long way!
iève used some to repair an exhaust leak and it held so good, it blew out the muffler....
