1.6TD Coolant hoses.
« on: March 17, 2010, 07:53:11 am »
Looking for a diagram that shows the hoses and their 'real' names.

At 500,000 KMs, I split a line. PITA.

I'm looking for the line that runs from the water pump up to the flange on the head, with the molded in tap to heat the oil filter.

Either my Google-Fu is out today, or there are not a lot of pictures of the coolant system online. Anyone got a decnt picture?

Any sources besides the dealer in Edmonton?

Kinda rather not put in a mystery used hose, if I on't have to. Not adverse to cutting up a new hose and building a Tee for it, if I have to. Do I have to?

Cheers

Here's one from germanautoparts. And the connection to the oil filter is to cool the oil, not heat it.

I was going to make the 1.6 coolant hoses in silicone, but tooling was too much,

Best prices and stock was from AUTOHAUSAZ.COM OR GERMANAUTOPARTS.COM

It's hose number 3 on that diagram. It split right above the molded in offshoot hose.

Thanks! Just printed that one out.

(Edit) I am figuring it for a Meyle 119 121 0004, aka VW 068 121 053P. Is that correct?

The catalog that the supplier has, showed a hose with that number but ID's it as being for a 1.6TD with Auto Transmission. It looks like a match for the one in the Germanautoparts picture, but the "auto Trans" kinda stumped us. It had the Meyle number visible, I looked that up, it crossed to the VW number.
The VW number looks like it references the 1.6TD correctly. ???

Probably a bad description in his book. I don't think VW did a turbo TD?
