WTB 1.5 cam
« on: March 16, 2010, 08:18:06 pm »
Title says it all, will trade for junk. Must be willing to ship it to me. Must be in usable condition.

Thanks

EDIT: I'd like an auto ALH cam, AHU and SDI cam as well. I will send it back if you need it back

Is there is a difference between a 1.5 and 1.6 cam?

i could not find any differences from a 1.5, 1.6, or TD cam with my calipers. lift is the same, base circle is the same. dunno about the duration tho.

Let me see if my spare 1.5 cam qualifies as "usable" or not, and I'll let it go for something cheap.

Which colors go where? All have a little overlap and that is what my machinist that did the head told me to watch out for. He said after 20 psi you will see more power, but it isn't as good as up to 20 since you will be blowing more of it out the exhaust. He wanted some $$$ to make me a custom cam that wouldn't have had them open at the same time and therefore "should" have made more power.

Anyhow, what are the differences, not to completely hijack.

I have one here in a junk head you could have, but you're up to something and I'm not sure if I want to part with it now..  ;D  It could take me a while to figure out where it is too..

At the moment I have nothing up my sleeve. I just want to plot it. I'll even send it back if that is what it takes. Dr Diesel and I are working on plotting all the different stock cams and we will have full disclosure on that info once we are done.  ;)

We could also use an ALH auto cam and an AHU cam if anyone has spares but those aren't as high on the priority list at the moment.

So far we have:
1.6 NA hydro cam - plotted
1.6 TD solid lifter - plotted
1.9 AAZ - plotted
ALH 5 speed - plotted
1Z - not plotted
1.6 solid - not plotted
1.6TD hydro - not plotted

Actually, I personally would love to have a SDI cam as well :D

I'll see if I can find that 1.5 head tomorrow..   But to be on the safe side, what is the PN??   Things have been known to get swapped about over the years...

I'm sticking to this one like glue, I wanna know before I finish my build, so I can determine the very best avainlable for what I want.  Thanks burn. 8)  Looks like I picked the very best time to build a frankenmotor. ;D  Couldn't be with better company either. ;)
