FS 79' German 2 door rabbit, with 1Z Tdi swap Project

The car:
1979 2 door german built rabbit diesel
* Body is solid, but has some surface rust. Strut towers are solid
* 8 gallon aftemarket reserve fuel tank installed
* Black interior, good condition
* Factory moonroof
* Cabriolet 4 headlight grille
* 2 new front fenders included

The engine:
1z/Alh Tdi complete with injection pump ( drive by wire), turbo, and manifolds
* Complete engine wiring harness pulled from a 1997 Passat
* Engine computer , fuse block and fuses
* Full clutch/Gas/Brake pedal set
* Drive by wire potentiometer
* Digital guage cluster
* Pierburg Mass airflow sensor
* Alternator
* Air conditioning compressor
* Starter
* Air filter box

The transmission:

02A cable shift 5 speed transaxle
* Comes complete with shifter box and cables

The car is in decent shape, it's not a show winner but has alot of potential. The engine has approx 120K. I bought it with the timing belt missing and assumed the worst. Upon pulling the head however, I could find no damage. The cylinder walls are in great shape and still show the crosshatch pattern from honing. My guess is either the belt broke while the engine was cranking over, or the previous owner got in over his head on a timing belt change. Either way, all of the components are open for inspection so there are no surprises. This engine can run full electronic with the wiring harness, or install a mechanical pump to create an "M-tdi". I am selling this car as a project. I have spent alot of time gathering most of the components to put together a TDi powered Mk1, but have too many projects and not enough time.
