Thanks for the info.

I already found that site.
I have also send an Email to the Callaway site owner(also a dutch guy) but it wasn't a Callaway kit in his eyes because of the different intake manifold and the placing of the turbo on the manifold.
You're right about the intake. It lookes even stranger when I opened it. There is a kind of cone bolted under the airfilter.
I'm not sure (I have to take it apart further) but it looks like it is somekind of build in BOV.
There is no wastegate or BOV in the kit.
When the kit (for sure) is made for a 1,6 n/a I don't think it will need a BOV because of the lack of fuel from the 1,6 n/a pump so I have to investigate it further.
I've read that the Callaway and BAE 1,6 n/a kits were making 7-9 psi on the stock engine (and pump?).
It was a bold on +/- 25 bhp kit. What would it do with a tweaked 10mm LDA AAZ pump
@ macka
Yes,I think so too.Callaway made a pretty nice setup in their days for VW.
I would love a Callaway setup on my Mk1 G60 (without the fueler) but their quite expensive and hard to find and even harder to get them shipped.
I'm a bit ashamed about the price.Lets just say it was less than 150 dollars shipped.
(it was a real find and i was the only one looking)
The oil return is a kind of gardenhose connection now so I have to create something for that.
I've had some troubles with my oil return on my AAZ/K24 setup. The oil return I made up blew or tore apart twice.
The right side bottom of the car wont rust for a while.
After that I have ordered a custom made braided oil return for the AAZ.
I'm sure they can make something nice for this one too,but I will have to check if I can mount the turbo first.
The intercooler would be tricky to fit with this intake manifold because the exits are real close together.
I'm not really a fan of this intake because it hangs over the exhaust manifold a lot heating up the air in a High HP setup.
I have been thinking of trying to fit a 1Y intake manifold because i think it will clear this turbo and manifold.
@ Trev0rbr
You're as wondered as I was when I opened the package.
Good point about the engine mount.I wasn't sure about it either.I blew new life in the Mk2 AAZ project 3 days ago so now I can check if it will fit.But when it doesn't I'll start plan B and mount an AAZ in my Mk1 G60.
(I took supercharger(G60) out to replace the seals, strips and bearings but there was to much damage inside for my liking.)
(I use it on track days and 1/4 mile events and wasn't sure enough to put in all the new bits.)
(I've started collecting bits to make it an 8v turbo gasser but I got a good offer on my turbo so I sold it(garrett T3 .42/.48).
About this turbo.I'm pretty sure it says .3 on the exhaust housing that's even smaller than the T3 or k24(.42/.48 right?).
Therefore I think it will spool quick. Not sure about the top end but I'll wait and see.
I'm not really trying to get to the 200 hp mark but if I can reach it with this turbo it would be great.
I had the chance to buy a broken 1,9 SDI pump for 20 euro and now my plans are to rebuild my spare AAZ pump with the 10mm head of the SDI pump and some further modifications(timing, governor, etc.)as I am running now.
I would love to get a Giles pump for this turbo but for now that's still out of reach.
The picture from your second post is what made me think it was a Callaway setup.
Because of the use of a similar (or same)Rotomaster turbo the downpipe flange looks the same as my kit.Although I think the exhaust housing on the Callaway kits were larger, then again it was for the 1,6 or 1,8 8v Gti.
I couldn't find the specs on the Callaway turbo's or the t04B.
The only thing I can't place with Callaway(or BAE,Arkay) kits is that intake manifold.
I'm also lacking the external wastegate on the exhaust manifold,it seems to be blocked off by a plate on the Callaway kit you pictured in your post.My exhaust manifold isn't blocked anywhere.
@ burn_your_money
Yes it's a very big turbo. Especially when you're used to VW diesel turbo's(like me).
I'm very curious how it will run and spool.
I hope to be able to lose my friend's tweaked Vauxhall c20xe.
The exhaust manifold isn't a Mk1 unit (I think) but it could be.I will make some more pictures tomorrow.
It's a solid piece manifold with the bottom mount T04 flange.
I also found the BAE info in my search but I think they were only using Rajay turbo's.
The only aftermarket tuner that used the Rotomasters as far as I know is Callaway(in they're MK1 kit)
I do like the intakes those different kits were using.
