pump mods while rebuilding?

I have been out of the vw diesel scene for a couple years now and happy to say im back. i picked up an auto gasser rabbit last spring, and with a lot of handouts from friends i now have a TD 5 speed bunny. my injection pump is starting to leak so i picked up a rebuild kit and im gonna rebuild the pump this weekend. other than the Gov mod does anyone have any other pump mods that i should do when i have it apart?

Timing Advance Mod.

haven't researched it or done it myself. but I hear it has good gains.

do you mean boring out the cap on the timing advance cover?

along with removing shims, a softer spring and i think even shaving the pin.. yes

been out of the scene a bit myself, but hey congrats on being an uncle again

I've got a couple td pumps , i'm cleaning out my garage here and working on getting stuff together for sale that I won't need. Let me know if you need anything idi wise (if you need parts.)
