Gasser 16 Valve stuff FS
« on: February 20, 2010, 06:21:04 am »
This is for you closet gassers out there. I have a 2.0L 16 Valve block that was going into my Caddy before I got on the turbodiesel drug. It is bored 20 over and comes with custom Diamond Racing 8.5 to 1 pistons with Total Seal rings. It has not been assembled. A friend has the head and was supposed to port and polish it, but has not. The head goes with it. This thing has been apart for a few years. I have $500 in the pistons, and would like to get that for it, but will consider reasonable offers. Thanks

I would rather sell the block with the intermediate shaft in it. Cant seem to find the oil pump drive gear. I can sell you a new Schadek oil pump for $70.00 + ship though.

no thanks, cause the intermediate shaft is the most important part i need right now. and i dont want a 9a block, cause im doing all this work to an ABA so i can have a low compression, easy breathing engine, instead of a high compression 9a

as for the oil pump, if you had the drive gear and block hole filler, i would be up for it, but if its just the oil pump, no thanks.

Can you put a 16v head on a mechanical lifter gasser block?

as long as it has the oil pressure feed for the lifters.

Valve relief in the piston tops may alsom be a concern.

Valve relief in the piston tops may alsom be a concern.

i didnt have to notch the pistons on my 16vABA. used the stock ABA pistons and a 9a head, with a aba steel head gasket.
so, if the pistons protrude, you will need them notched, but on an ABA, because of the taller deck height, the pistons sit down in the bores quite a ways even at TDC.

interested in parting that engine out yet?
