Volvo D24T tuning?
« on: November 16, 2005, 11:43:22 am »
Hello folks...

I'm working on a Volvo D24T and need to know if anyone out there has any idea how to tune the injection pump.. or if it can even be done, like on the VWs.

I can take pictures if needed.

The pump is a Bosch L116-3.

Performance or just adjusting the pump back to spec?

Here's a Volvo 2.4L fellow:

I'm only familiar with VW 1.6 and 1.9 pumps but perhaps you can send a PM to dieseltech via the above link and ask as he's obviously already tuned his pump.

Optionally (if you're going for performance), you can ask Superior Fuel Injection if they can overhaul & mod your pump. A DIY fuel screw and governor mod can't match up to Superior's quality work.

I've done both and am much happier with Superior's pump.

Hmm.

I'm not really looking to.. hot rod the car.. but rather, get it running up to spec.

For now.

Hopefully someone has information, but these cars seem a bit rarer, and finding people (read: Shops) that know how to work on them is harder than finding a good VW TD shop.

I might have to stoop down and buy the manuals for this thing... I'll go check if Don Docksteader has them.

If all you are trying to do is set up the pump timing, then look at this:
