Calling Burn you money and others
« on: February 10, 2010, 09:10:26 am »
I thought we had a thread on here about painting our IP.
Tyler was going to paint a guys pump Pink IIRC  ;D
I am wondering whatcould be bad about doing it? I would think less corrosion, rust, whatever on the outside of the pump. Any downsides?

Basically I am looking for things I can do INSIDE for the car while it is so stinking cold and snowy out here.

If you have the time send it out for electroplating, I want to do the same with my injector lines

Giles did such a nice job cleaning my IP, I sent my alt bracket in silver , IP bracket in flat black

I would like to electroplate a transmission in black, and then send it out for a overhaul

I plan on getting an IP blacked, with the hydraulic head and the high pressure lines copper-plated then clear-coated. Copper-plate the injectors, black head, black block. Black alternator, copper water pump and housing. Copper timing sprockets, black belt pulleys.

All black vacuum lines and water hoses, "copper" water hardpipes. Copper brackets and black rigid tube for all the wiring, and black soft-wrap for wires once they leave the tubes.

:D

I did the polyethlene tubing for my wires with the samco silicone tape for the ends

Boostcontroller.com sells the samco tape( black )

the tubing from ebay, cheap

Finally found the five clip part #'s for the aaz coolant hardline

waiting on them with my vw dealer

OK, so what do you mask off besides input, output, fuel selinoid, and boost line? I am thinking a nice gloss black.

And I wouldn't call you out on not sending peices...it takes time to get from canada to ohio  ;)

The 4 high pressure outlets, the vent for the LDA. I think I had the throttle lever and springs removed but that's a bit overkill

Yerah, I did my Giles pump in semi-gloss black. It looks mean.
