They rev twice as fast :P and have 50% more cylinders

ps. no one said anything about me wanting to replicate this with two TDI's ... no?
Wouldn't that be great?

Two idential TDI's both making 30-40 psi (with t3/t4's) with NOS and LPG - AWD of course. (in an mk4 2 dr golf)

I don't fully understand how that front and rear engine set up works.
how many transmissions are there? If only one how do they connect?

are the rear axles really just front axles with CV joints and everything but the wheels are held in place?

I'm very facinated by this.

this has been done many times in many different vw's.

it has two engine/transaxle assemblies, and uses the front subframe in the rear to hold the control arms.

so the rear is just like the front with the steering rack immobilized some way(not the best way to do it, but easier than making a suspension from scratch)

Oh okay, so it's like taking two cars, cut the fronts off and squish em together.

So the driver would have a shifter that somehow shifted both tranny's and a pedal that operated both clutchs?

TDI's would be cool, but they still dont sound like a VR. nothing sounds like a VR. period. and i do kinda have a soft spot for those engines, just because of how sweet they sound.

and as for the power train, it probably has one clutch pedal with 2 master cylinders on it, and it probably has one shifter to control both transmissions. and one throttle pedal that opens both throttle bodys. you can hear in the videos that the engines are not exactly in sync. they are close, but still turn different rpms.

the rubber it layed down was pretty sweet tho (maybe a 3 foot strip) not much slip from the tires. so much traction that it just goes.

Now turbo those two VR6's and then get back to me about traction.

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough:

Quote from: Rabbit on Roids
the rubber it layed down was pretty sweet tho. not much slip from the tires. so much traction that it just goes.

Quote from: Me
Now turbo those two VR6's and then get back to me about traction.

... implying there wouldn't be any traction at all and it would not "just go" :P  ;D
come on you want one!
Do you think with your foot to the floor it would feel like the car was on ice?

I love Q cars. Guy I knew had a 70's Renault 16 with a Douvrin V6 turbo in it. Destroyed most things, yet looked like grandmothers baugette wagon. :o Hilarious. ;D
