Alright. In my seemingly never ending search for a nice, but affordable (diesel powered) second car for the winter, I'm gonna broaden my search a bit and just throw this out there.
What I'm after is a '00-'03 Golf TDI with some sort of engine damage. Like if a TB broke or blown turbo or dropped valve. Just something big so the price of the car is low. I want a hatch back, so I'm not wanting a Jetta.
It must be a 5 speed manual, and CAN NOT have a beige or other light colored interior. Just doesn't fly up here as it is a PITA to keep clean looking. Learned that with my current TDI.

Also, I don't want a '99.5 because ECU tunes are a PITA. The rest of the car should be in good condition though, like a good body and interior and such. However if any panels that can be unbolted have damage, that's ok as I can just swap em out.
I say I want one with a busted engine because I do know quite a bit on the ALH, and also so I can build it to what I want from the start and do it for a bit less money than if I were to start with a good runner.
I figure the shop owners and mechanics on this forum come across cars like this from time to time and perhaps could put a good word in to the owner if they choose to get rid of the car all together. Or if someone has one and doesn't know what to do with it... well. geek geek
So if you have something resembling this:

... or even this going on in your engine:

Let me know.
The car should be in Alberta, because I don't want to travel too far.
