this thread can be deleted... its no longer needed.

the car is no longer for sale. yesterday i stopped by the local junk yard, and my buddy comes up to me, and tells me they been saving a diesel rabbit for me, just got it in last week.

CHERRY 81 4 door LX diesel. 300 bucks. running car. SCORE!

anyway, the red car isnt for sale now, because the interior is needed out of it.

ok, so, first off, its straight, and has VERY LITTLE rust for living on the coast its whole life. very good condition over all.
doesnt run, i think it needs a freq valve or a fuel dizzy (a diesel would fix every problem it has) or something. i never could get it running and just gave up. (have clear oregon title)

59k original miles (according to the original owner) but it has an EJ code engine in it. those were supposed to be in 81 jettas, so its not numbers matching or completely stock. it has an audi 5000 throttle body and fuel injectors in it. i know it can run again, my neighbor up the street used to own it, and ive seen it drive under its own power many times, no doubt its an easy fix.. or use the car for parts. kinda what i had intended for it, but i dont have the heart to ruin such a nice car.

i cant take anything less than 300 bucks for it tho, thats what i paid for it, and i ended up doing alot of work to it for nothing. im the kinda person that will let something sit and rot rather than sell it for WAY less than i paid.

another thing, i have a shell of another burnt red 4dr rabbit, but its diesel, and has all the correct wiring and everything to swap a diesel into the gas car. you would just need a diesel engine. the shell can go free with the car if you want it. have title and everything.
Start fuel injector? Freq valve is just primative fuel trim using O2 sensor. Try bridging the fuel pump relay, crack an injector line or better yet pull the injector with the fuel line still attached, and pull up on the airflow meter flap. Also those early Rabbits had a screen in the banjo bolt that could clog. Vws fix was to just take it out.

i straight jumped power to the cold start injector. had the fuel pump on a manual switch. pulled ALL 4 INJECTORS, all were clogged. thats why there is 5000 injectors in it. swapped in the 5k injectors and i had good spray, but no fire still. it has spark, but it never wants to fire. it was beyond what my brain could think to do, so its sitting.
