Caddy in eastern Canada
« on: January 22, 2010, 05:10:12 am »

I found this little gem for sale for sale on a recent trip in Nova Scotia. It has a rebuilt 1.6TD and a whole lot of greasy, oily undercoating. The guy wants $4500.

He had replaced the front fenders, rockers and slight work on the strut towers. His brother is an oldschool retired body man and it took him all one winter to repair it right.

Last Nov I was in San Francisco and scored an 81 Caddy LX and an 84 Jetta TD. Took all the goodies off the Jetta and put them on the pickup, then drove it back here to Maine. The paint is all faded and there is one tiny little rust spot below the rear window but otherwise the body is as clean as the day it was made. The thing sat for years in Salinas with one of those lame truck boxes over the bed right against the rear window and that made water stay against it when it rained.  >:( thus causing the rust spot. It's unreal to go to the west coast of the US and see the old cars with no rust. If anyone in the US or Canada for that matter wants to make an offer I am listening pics available.  :D
