Setting timing accurately requires the use of a dial indicator screwed into the injection pump. The procedure is described fully in the Bentley manual (you DO have a Bentley, right? It's required to be a mamber of this forum!!!).

well as you know I to live in Bowmanville and and I have a 91 jetta 1.6TD ,If you need any assistance or help I'm here ,I have the tools including the dial indicator. where abouts are you located?Im on Maple Grove RD.
