1z injection pump change
« on: January 19, 2010, 11:49:51 am »
Need to change the injection pump on my 1994 passat 1.9tdi.

I can do the timing belt and tensioner i think, do you need to adjust the tentioner or just put it on and thats it?

I do not know how to set the injection timing, does anybody know how to do this or is there a step by step guide anywhere?

thankyou  Scott

Hi there... best plan would be to read thru the FAQ on this board... lot's of hints, including a link to a timing HOW-TO.

click the "read more" button rather then the PDF version.

Yeah, PDF generator is broken...and the site admin can't remove it.  The "Read More" button will do the trick.

Hello mate, i havent changed the pump yet because whilst looking about i noticed that the air intake pipe had worn a hole in the fuel line. I have fixed this and fuel is flowing about now but i cannot get it to go to the injectors. I have used a vaccuum pump and i have cracked the pipes to the injectors but i cant get the fuel to come out of them. The glow plugs are good, power supply is good, i put vagcom on it and no codes were shown. I checked the timing and the cam is ok, the flywheel mark is ok and the hole in the pump pulley lines up.
Do you have any ideas of what could be wrong? or any other action i could take?
Thankyou, and that write up is excelent!
