mercedes 5cyl diesel injection pump, any useful parts?

just picked up a fuel injection pump like the one found here on the ebay link above or ebay number     Item number: 8010245688

can any of the parts in the above mercedes td pump be used in a vw pump?

I just wanted the injectors (135bar) and the turbo (garret t3 oil cooled only) but I needed to get the pump off so i could remove the injectors, I paid $12 for all 3, if I can only use it for educational purposes, then it still wasn't a waste.

anyone know what size the garret turbo is on the 300d mercedes?
anyone know an injection pump rebuild shop that would buy a core pump?

The turbo on the 617 motors is an aireasearch t3, it is bigger than the garret.

mercedes 300D turbodiesel turbo is a .42 compressor A/R and a .48 turbine side A/R compared to the .42 / .38 of the stock VW diesel T3. I am using the mercedes turbo on my m-TDI application. Trying to find another to have around for spares as well...

As far as the injection pump. I don't believe much will be useful in the VW application as that is an inline Bosch pump and the VW pumps are all VE rotary pumps. Could resell though or trade as a core.

RabbitGTDguy thank you, I think the turbo is the right size for a vw but it needs rebuilt. the pump, I agree, no useful parts.

turbo is yours for $20 you pay shipping reply to [email protected]

warning, I think it needs rebuilt.

your right. The turbo will work well for a VW diesel application...especially for a higher boost/more fuel application. The only drawback will be a slight increase in lag but with proper fueling it may not even be noticeable. This unit also will breath better in the higher RPM's and be more responsive because of the larger turbine side A/R. With the right fueling and setup it'll easily support an efficient 25psi. I'm rebuilding mine at the moment. Be sure you check whether it needs a dynamic or a carbon seal rebuild kit. I ordered the correct one but got sent the wrong one and now have to either buy another kit or buy the pieces to make mine work. Should be a carbon seal...but better check...depending on when it was made it could be dynamic. I need to find a cover for the wastegate plate as well for mine!
