WTB - feeler - any AAZ engines local?
« on: January 04, 2010, 10:40:37 am »
looking to see whats out there. AAZ's are extremely rare in the pacific north west. ive seen like one or 2 for sale, thats it tho. so, what do you guys have? basically looking for a long block. im going to be using non-stock manifolds and turbo, along with a 1.6 fuel pump and injectors.

im trying to find a long block, because i dont want to pay for parts im never going to use. doesnt really matter tho, lets just see what you guys have to offer?

thats just a BARE BLOCK... not a short block, a short block has a rotating assembly.

i have zero AAZ parts or engines. thats why im looking for a semi complete long block locally. a long block is a short block with a head. i basically need a whole engine with nothing on it. and im not looking for something that i have to ship a million miles unless its super cheap or free...

the thing is, i want it close to me. so i can look stuff over before i buy it. there are too many problems on vw diesels when owned by idiots who dont know what maintenance is. i can think of timing belt failure, crank nose wobble, and some other things that come to mind when i think of common problems of AAZ engines.

but i bet they come with new price tags dont they? see, if i could spend around 3-500 bucks, i would do it. but i bet your new engines are right about 2 grand arent they? if i were to spend that much, i would try and find a TDI motor.

He won't find one for $3-500 up here either. 1.6TDs go for $500 and up around here.
