Deleting it is as easy as pulling it off the car. I think you will need to remove 5 bolts. 2 behind the crank pulley, 2 that are vertical into the block at the front and one that is parallel to the ground just in front of the water pump.
You should swap in a manual rack. The power steering rack will only last about a year before it starts failing. At least that's how long mine has made it...

or cap the ends of the hoses, or loop them back together, that will keep the crap out.
another thing tyler, isnt a manual rack almost impossible to find for a mk2?

nope, lots of MK2's had manual steering, especially the early ones, my 85 GTI has a manual rack in it from the factory.

Early mk2s are the key. Diesel and gas are the same so that really helps.

'90 -'92 are different.
I think they are the MK3 racks.
As long as they are kept with the matching u-joint they will work in any MK2.
If you swap to a manual rack, you will also need the u-joint that goes from the steering to the rack, through the firewall.
You'll need the rubber boot that covers it too.
The power steering u-joints and boots are shorter than manual.

Ok so i got everything done exept the belt for powersteering sine they gave me the wrong one. everything is tight but it still makes the squealing noise from before. it didnt do it at start up but i went for a drive and it started but as soon as i push in the clutch. Anyone have any ideas what it could be? i was thinking maybe i need a new idler pulley maybe? please any suggestions would be awesome.

Are you sure it isn't your alternator belt that is squeeling? That is pretty common.
